The Texas Facilities Commission disposes of salvage and surplus personal property from Texas state agencies. The public is invited to purchase the property at one of our retail storefronts, by live auctions, or internet auctions.

The State Surplus Property Program operates three locations, with the headquarters in Austin. The State Surplus Property Program sells surplus personal property to the public from Texas state agencies, including office furniture and supplies, vehicles, small electronics and much more. The Austin storefront also sells abandoned airport property such as pocket knives and multi-purpose tools.

Police radios, light bars and video equipment are available for sale to law enforcement organizations only.

The Austin storefront is open to the public Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM and receives new property every day. Currently, the Austin storefront's inventory is not available online. For more information, call (512) 463-1990 or e-mail at

Auctions are held on an as-needed basis, and feature specialty equipment and/or items located outside the Austin area. Internet auctions are conducted by Lone Star Auctioneers. Live auctions (TXDOT equipment only) are conducted by Ritchie Brothers Auctioneers.
