Jamie Barrington has worked for the State of Texas since August of 2002, and currently holds the post of Director of Federal & State Surplus Property.

Barrington’s responsibilities at TFC include, management of the disposition of surplus and salvage donated to the State by federal programs and State agencies.

Barrington’s extensive business experience includes stints at various financial institutions across Texas. He attended Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, where he majored in business administration.

Prior to coming to the TFC, he was a business consultant, and he was also president and CEO of a software company, where he evaluated the financial stability of the company and the marketability of its product.

His 26 years of business experience also includes work as president and/or vice president of several banks and savings and loans institutions. He was vice president of Community State Bank in Austin, where he made mortgage, commercial and consumer loans and helped open a new branch bank during his tenure.

Barrington was also president and chief executive officer of First National Bank in Newton, Texas, responsible for the overall operation of the bank. Additionally, he has worked as the senior vice president and branch manager of Community Bank in Beaumont, and was president of the Silsbee State Bank, where he managed the daily operation of the bank and opened five new branches.
