Stanton Korn
Budget Director
Stanton Korn is the Budget Director of the Texas Facilities Commission (TFC) and has been with the agency since May 2002.
From May 1980 to August 1994 he was an attorney in Los Angeles, California and then moved to Austin, Texas where he practiced law from January 1995 to August 1999. He briefly worked as a legislative aide for a member of the Texas House of Representatives and later joined the General Government Team at the Legislative Budget Board where he was a budget analyst for almost two years prior to his employment at the Facilities Commission.
Stanton is a graduate of The Texas Fiscal Officers' Academy (Class of 2006), a three-week professional development program for state agency fiscal officers. The program is designed to "prepare individuals to assume the duties and roles of a state agency chief fiscal officer; use the extensive resources in state government to share experiences and information to train future state agency fiscal officers; and to cultivate a highly competent professional group capable of providing state government the leadership that Texans deserve".
His key responsibilities are oversight and management of the agency's operating and construction budgets, preparation of the agency's Legislative Appropriations Requests, and monitoring and tracking the appropriations process during legislative session.
Stanton is a graduate of Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles, California, with an undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of California at Los Angeles. He is a member of the Texas and California State Bar.
