Commissioner Jack W. Perry of Houston was appointed by Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst in January of 2014 for a term to expire January 31, 2019. Commissioner Perry is an attorney who is currently the Senior Counsel and part owner of JPG Development, LLC, which is active in the development of subdivisions to provide lots for home builders in the Texas market. He also practices law representing various banking and real estate clients in the area of commercial real estate law. He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from Baylor University and his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Houston Law Center. Prior to Commissioner Perry's current employment, he first worked as an associate attorney in the real estate section at Strasburger & Price, LLP, then as a shareholder/partner in the firm of Winstead, PC in their Houston office.
The Texas Facilities Commission consists of seven board members. Three members are appointed by the governor, two additional members appointed by the governor from a list of nominees submitted by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, and two members appointed by the lieutenant governor. The Executive Director manages the day-to-day business of the Commission, employs staff and fulfills duties and responsibilities assigned by law or delegated by TFC.
