North Austin Complex Phase 1
Topping Out Ceremony
10:00 a.m. - Friday, September 20, 2019

The North Austin Complex is located on state-owned land between 45th Street and 51st Street along North Lamar Blvd.  This complex serves as headquarters for the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) and its enterprise agencies.

The Texas Facilities Commission (TFC), working on behalf of and in collaboration with HHSC, prepared a North Austin Complex Master Plan to consolidate certain HHSC agencies from leased office space into state-owned buildings.  Upon completion of the multi-phased plan, all HHSC enterprise agencies will be in one centralized campus.

Phase One of the North Austin Complex Development was approved by the 84th Legislature and authorized the construction of one 406,000 gross square foot state-office building and accompanying parking garage.  The nine-story office building includes a rooftop mechanical room and an adjacent seven-story parking garage for approximately 1850 cars. A central utility plant will be constructed inside the parking garage to provide service for the office building as well as extra capacity to support future buildings.

Phase 1 of the North Austin Complex will be completed in late 2020.
